With you on this one. Hey, do you know the rules for taking kitties to the USA and Canada? If we vaccinate with FIV they will test positive; does that mean they can’t travel? Or is a certificate from the vet enough? I don’t know who to ask.

If I could, I would buy a small piece of land and have ducks so that I can get Ryan to do the herding exercise. I don’t know what that is called but that is the idea basically.

Stimulation is the exact word that represents Border Collie. They are not dubbed as the #1 most intelligent dog just to be kept in a regular pet home. They are extremely smart.

I really hope he finds a great home. Have you got inquiries from people who does agility?

Well said Tim. Working dogs without work and high strung and unhappy.

However, in Ryan’s defense, he’s a player. He plays with the kids, he plays with his ball and he loves his walks. He just needs someone to give him lots of company and stimulation.

And he bit me because he didn’t want me to ‘win’. I was trying to get him out of the house because he wouldn’t stop lunging at the cats and sugar gliders. I was trying to revoke the privilege of being inside with the family and he turned and snapped.

Don’t u just hate people treating you like a charity case.

My question is, what the hell is the breed Border Collie doing in Malaysia in the first place? Do we have people keeping them occupy with work for at least half a day?

I have seen people with these sheep dogs – Shetland Sheepdogs, Border Collie and Collies in their homes and they are bored to death. They do nothing but pace around in the 8 figure. I know figure 8 is an auspicious sign to devote feng shui believers but animals doing that is not a nice sight to behold.

I don’t blame Ryan for biting. And I truly understand the need to PTS. Yes, we are all very compassionate being but sometimes enough is enough…

at least their reasoning is OK
also, i really don’t think there are very many strays in rural areas right?
over populatio is more of an urban issue.

however, if you really want to have them fixed, try to contact noah’s ark who have a CIMB sponsored mobile desexing clinic.

I recently went to visit some out-of-town relatives in a rural area of pahang.
My relatives own a couple of intact toms, and they highlighted that neutering just wasn’t convenient for them – since the nearest town that had a vet was a good couple of hours away.

Alicia, for what it’s worth, (and you may already know this), PM Najib’s daughter is a veterinarian. I heard that when SPCA approached him having to do with buying the land on which their shelter sits, Najib said something like, “I have to make this happen, or my daughter will kill me…” and I believe he did pull strings to help SPCA on that issue.

His daughter’s influence may make this government more open than some to new animal-related legislation. Have you considered sending your proposal directly to the PM?? A long-shot, yes, but no harm in trying. I would do so myself, but I’m not a Malaysian citizen, and so they would certainly be wasted words.
